Job Description

Woke Foods is seeking a Cook + Kitchen Warrior to support the development of our catering and meal-planning services. The candidate is interested in Dominican and other Latinx cuisine, using food as medicine, and is genuinely passionate about food justice and racial equity. The candidate likes to take initiative, is dependable, hard-working and motivated. This is a part-time position with flexible hours. Candidates must be able to work weekends and evenings as needed.


  • Receiving and executing catering and meal-planning orders
  • Coordinate and plan logistics
  • Food preparation and cooking with a team 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of catering and meal planning standards and operating procedures 
  • Actively gathers feedback on events to insure guest satisfaction and records information
  • Proposes new ideas to improve operating standards, services, and implementation processes
  • Assist in development of menus and food presentation


  • Applicants should have Food Handler’s License
  • Experience in food service and/or cooking for a minimum of 50 people
  • Good time management skills, customer relation and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (phone, email, face-to-face)
  • Proficient with Google Applications, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be highly motivated with good communication skills and capable of leading by example
  • Able to multitask and have strong problem solving abilities
